What is EOLES ?

EOLES (Electronics and Optics e-Learning for Embedded Systems) is a TEMPUS European project whose aim is the creation of an e-learning English-spoken 3rd year Bachelor degree in Electronics and Optics for Embedded Systems.

Why to choose a course in Embedded Systems ?

Because this area is in the top ten list of jobs with the highest hiring demand.

When will the course be available ?

The first edition took place in the school year 2014/15. Th second edition is now underway. Applications for the third edition - school year 2016/17 - will open in March, 2016.

Who may attend ?

Any student having already the first two years of a Bachelor degree in Physics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Optics, Telecomunications or equivalent from anywhere in the world, but particularly from the North Africa partner countries, Algeria, Morrocco and Tunisia

Students will also have to have a certified English level, a computer, a headset with microphone, a webcam and access to an internet connection with enough quality of service to support online videoconference classes.

Do I need to attend on-campus classes ?

No, all classes will be delivered online, including hands-on labs - that's the biggest innovation of this programme.

How can we do hands-on labs online ?

For the hands-on labs students will use our remote laboratory.

Which language will be used ?

All classes and course materials will be delivered in English.

How many places will be available ?

The number of available places may vary between 30 and 50 places a year.

Who awards the Diploma ?

At the end of the course, successful students living in Morocco and Tunisia will receive a Double Diploma: a diploma according to the legislation of the country where the university they are enrolled is located:

  • Université Cadi Ayyad de Marrakech : Diplôme de Licence Professionnelle d'Electronique et Optique pour les Systèmes Embarqués
  • Université Abdelmalek Essaadi de Tétouan : Licence Professionnelle "Electronic and Optic for Embedded Systems"
  • Université de Kairouan : Diplôme de Licence Appliquée d'Electronique et Optique pour les Systèmes Embarqués

plus a "Diplôme de Licence Sciences Pour l'Ingénieur (SPI)", issued by the University of Limoges and recognised inside the European Higher Education Area.

Successful students from other countries enrolled solely at the Université de Limoges will receive a "Diplôme de Licence Sciences Pour l'Ingénieur (SPI)" by the Université de Limoges, in accordance with French legislation, and recognised inside the European Higher Education Area

Will it be possible to apply for postgraduate degrees ?

Yes, the course is officially recognized by the educational authorities of the participating North African countries - Morocco, Tunisia - and also by the French educational authorities, and therefore recognised inside the European Higher Education Area, which will allow graduate students to follow postgraduate studies in institutions of those North African countries or in any institution inside the European Higher Education Area.

Which countries are part of the European Higher Education Area ?

The current 46 countries participating in the European Higher Education Area are: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

How important it is to have a Double Diploma ?

University graduates with an internationally recognised Double Diploma have better opportunities to get a job than graduates with single qualification, particularly in case the student would like to apply for postgraduate studies or for a job in an European Union country.
