Message from the Coordinator
Welcome to the fourth newsletter of the European project EOLES
We are glad to announce that the online application is opened for the first edition of the EOLES (Electronics and Optics e-Learning for Embedded Systems) "e-Learning 2.0" English-spoken 3rd year Bachelor degree. In this newsletter you will find all the information about the online application - access to the Application Form - and about the created double diploma.
To be ready for the launching of the EOLES training in September 2014, the activities of the EOLES project are accelerating:
- Online training sessions of teachers and staff from the European and North Africa participant institutions were delivered online by Université de Limoges, Katholiek Universiteit van Leuven, Université Virtuelle de Tunis and Université de Mostaganem Abdelhamid Ibn Badis.
- Development of the remote practical works is in progress. Many practical works are already operational.
- Some media broadcasting have been made with the aim of reaching potential students (posters, video, social medias, a new website to be launched soon,...). In the same time, EOLES project has been presented in 2 different conferences, and some presentations will be held in the universities belonging to the project in the next few weeks.
- All the partners have received all the necessary equipment to build their own "e-learning studio".
A seminar with all the partners is planned to be held in Limoges (26th-28th of May, 2014) in order to monitor the development of the pedagogical resources for the different teaching units of the training.
Finally, the intermediary report has been sent to the European Commission on (date?). We are now currently waiting the report of the EC.

EOLES Applications Open
Applications are open for the first edition of the EOLES "e-Learning 2.0" English-spoken 3rd year Bachelor degree in Electronic and Optic e-Learning for Embedded Systems.
This first edition will start in the second week of September and will last till the beginning of July, 2015.
Any student from anywhere in the world may apply. If you know anyone who may be interested on profiting from this unique opportunity, please, tell her/him.

If you are a teacher, please, spread the word among your students. Maybe this is the opportunity they have been looking for!
EOLES Double Diploma
The most relevant innovation of the EOLES program, apart being a full on-line program, is the Double Diploma.
Successful students living in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia will receive a Double Diploma: a diploma according to the legislation of the country where the
university they are enrolled is located:
Université Abdelhamid Ibn Badis de Mostaganem : Diplôme de Licence Electronique (spécialité Electronique et Optique pour les Systèmes Embarqués);
Université Cadi Ayyad de Marrakech : Diplôme de Licence Professionnelle d'Electronique et Optique pour les Systèmes Embarqués;
Université de Kairouan : Diplôme de Licence Appliquée d'Electronique et Optique pour les Systèmes Embarqués.
plus a "Diplôme de Licence Sciences Pour l'Ingénieur (SPI)", issued by the University of Limoges
and recognised inside the European Higher Education Area.
Successful students from other countries enrolled solely at the Université de Limoges will receive
a "Diplôme de Licence Sciences Pour l'Ingénieur (SPI)" by the Université de Limoges, in accordance with French legislation, and recognised inside the European Higher Education Area.
EOLES On-line Training Sessions
One of the most important aspects of the EOLES project concerns the training of teachers and staff from the European and North Africa participant institutions in order to ensure an efficient transfer of expertise among partners and the mid-term sustainability of the 3rd year Bachelor program.
In the last semester, four training courses took place:
two related to the E-learning platform: "E-learning platform use training" addressed to teachers; and "E-learning platform administration training" addressed to technical staff from the institutions in North Africa where the E-learning platform will be installed;
two training courses addressed to future EOLES teachers and with the sole purpose of improving their general and technical English.
The training courses were delivered online by Université de Limoges, Katholiek Universiteit van Leuven, Université Virtuelle de Tunis and Université de Mostaganem Abdelhamid Ibn Badis.
EOLES was presented at:
REV2014: 11th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation, held at Porto, Portugal, between the 26th and 28th of February, 2014.
